Pros

Salary are fair and competitive

Cons

Not opportunity to promote. Management supervising areas with no practical experience, micro manage, do not utilize talent within group. Have taken away staff ability to make business decisions....again micro manage. No management support

Pros

Considering the state of Idaho, Idaho Power is one of the best employers with great benefits. They touch most of southern Idaho so there are a number of locations to work at. The have several sides - electricity supply and generation so there are a number of areas to either start in and/or move to. Has the feel of a large family work environment.

Cons

Many of the positions are internal and you work in a cubicle. Good pay for Idaho, but not a lot of upside potential. Like anywhere, there are a few supervisors that don't know as much as they should about what their employees really do and challenges they really face. A lot of advancements based on who you know and who you hang with.

Cons

Much the talent left. Really unexperienced leadership. No where but here would people have the high paying jobs and that’s why they stay
