Zero loyalty or integrity for hourly employees.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Good work/home life balance. Safe work environment/conditions.

Cons

No matter how many times you relocate for the company, it goes unappreciated. No matter how many years you work for the company, you are easily laid off. Sometimes multiple times. Being an internal applicant, means nothing to IPCO. No camaraderie. HR Dept. will not hesitate to cut your throat or simply avoid direct questions, leaving you to just wonder. HR Dept. will also make the determination for you, as to whether you will "like the job" you are internally applying for, regardless of qualifications. Common practice is to lay people off and rehire for that exact position, so they can drop the hourly rate back down. But...guess who expects their year-end bonus' and stock options... Overall, they are just a complete mess with the management of personnel, resources, and real estate. The company would rather lose millions on something like a very poor real estate purchase than keep a few hourly employees on the payroll.

Pros

People are amazing. The company reflects values of Boise and work life balance is great!

Cons

Very conservative approach to technology. Risk adverse utility, so the pace can be frustrating.

Pros

The pay is good. Benefits are okay. The top three executives are smart, genuine, authentic, transparent individuals. I'll go as far to say they are great leaders.

Cons

I think the great leaders are being "played" by HR. HR creates the political environment and can't be trusted. Too much finger pointing and not enough transparency. Some managers rely on "spies" to get feedback about their employees. The same managers listen against their employees and frustrate them to leave. Job descriptions get "dumbed down" to allow "favorites" to qualify for a promotion. High performers are penalized by carrying to load of non-performers.
