Pros

Competitive pay and benefits. Although, the Cons these days seem to outweigh the Pros by a large margin.

Cons

Job security is a thing of the past. Over the last several years there has been a "cleansing" of many highly experienced managers. This has resulted in a lack of real leadership and much discontent amongst the ranks. Idaho Power used to be an amazing place to work...very desirable. Unfortunately, management has given in to the pressures of "share holder value" in lieu of long term success. I've been solicited to come back to IPC and have turned them down. The long term prospects (IMO) for Idaho Power are less than spectacular. Look for Warren Buffet to absorb the company within the next 3 to 4 years....

Pros

Benefits if you can stand the politics

Cons

Very incompetent management , Good ol' boy system. Got to be in the buddy group. But most of all very incompetent management. Practice finding false reasons to move people out. Good they have a lock on the electricity customer market but the day is coming that customers will choose where to buy electricity and say bye-bye to IPC!!

Pros

Good people who can still remember good ol' times, support of work life balance and professional development. Tenured folks who are optimists.

Cons

Misguided corporate initiatives, miopic and micromanaging senior management. Directors who do not have the backgrounds needed to lead in roles with inflated titles. Promoting lean business has burned out some of the brightest, best and hardworking people at the company.
