Pros

I love working at InBloom Autism Services in Phoenix, Arizona! The BCBAs focus on providing caregiver resources to the families and ongoing focused ABA training, and clinical integrity, and are role models to their RBTs and Student Analysts. The RBTs work hard each and every day to provide one-on-one quality services to their clients and connected experience.

Cons

In the ABA industry can come with a bit of schedule uncertainty and InBloom strives to accommodate family/client and staff needs.

InBloom was an incredibly chaotic clinic to work for. The high turnover rate of RBTs and BCBAs made the job super stressful and the work environment was very toxic.

Pros

- A group of wonderful, caring clinicians at the local level. Approach to therapy fits kids' needs. The clinicians really care and it shows in the caliber of work they do. - Evaluations offered free of charge to families, giving many families the possibility of a diagnosis without wait times. - Peer-based consultation was wonderful. - The opportunities to help families at a very important part of their autism journeys.

Cons

I've given some thoughts to whether or not I would provide a review. Since I've noticed that many other employees have had similar concerns, I wanted to help the reader understand that these problems apply to psychologists too, especially as the organization looks to fill vacant positions. - During recruitment, expect the organization to ask you to agree to an unrealistic number of evaluations per week. You will not be offered a salary anywhere near what is posted. PTO policies are not up to the bar set by other employees. Training opportunities/stipends are not to industry standards. Bonuses are only based on quantities of evaluations, not on quality. - The CEO is often "hot headed" and makes decisions impulsively with far-reaching clinical impact. Leadership input and employee input is not factored into decisions and questioning leadership decisions to make processes better is viewed as not being a "team player"- that is, gaslighting. When employees raise legitimate concerns, it is viewed as complaining. Forming healthy boundaries around job responsibilities is viewed as laziness. When employees have put in their notice, the company has a "you're dead to me mentality." Productive, caring, and wonderful employees have been let go because they did not bring in the "right clients" with zero efforts to help these employees and show that the leadership cared about them as human beings. I can't tell you how many times that sudden terminations/departures have occurred because I can't count them. For an organization that touts itself as "employee-centric," leadership does not factor in employee input into it's decision. The organization also touts an "open door" policy but is often unresponsive to feedback or concerns. - Although evaluations are helpful for families and are viewed as a service "to help people," the organization sees this service as an arm of marketing. Psychologists will always be secondary to behavioral therapists in this organization. - At times, I felt like I was in middle school all over again. I've heard members of leadership using disparaging terms to refer to employees... completely unprofessional. Rather than speaking with employees directly about concerns, management speaks over employees' heads. Little is offered in terms of coaching or course correction.
