Pros

I really enjoy working here! Everyone is extremely nice and smart! I'm learning so much from the leadership team as well as other colleagues! There's no invisible ceiling for immigrant workers in this company, which might be common in lots of other places. Quite the contrary, you add a unique perspective for team discussions, as the leadership is aiming for a global company. (We do business in multiple countries besides US). You'll get everything you deserve, as long as you work hard.

Cons

Not really a con, but my boss likes to get everyone chocolate chip cookies every now and then. So hard to resist them when you are trying to keep fit!

Pros

People in the team are super passionate, diligent, and intelligent. The leadership team loves challenges and solving problems, and that is how the company grows so fast! I enjoyed applying my academic skills when working closely with students, parents, and counselors, but also getting out of my comfort zone of trying new tasks!

Cons

Work day and night! Sometimes need to do work very late at night because of the time difference.

Pros

Students can be lovely and talented

Cons

Horrible management and zero loyalty to employees. They mismanaged company and broke all contracts. They now expect who is left to work like dogs and cut everyone second time using Covid as excuse.

We have been in the midst of the greatest financial disaster in modern history. Companies to the left and right have been laying off staff. In order to avoid this, we asked employees to voluntarily accept reduced pay temporarily. This is exceptionally common during these times (90% of US employees making less than 100k have experienced this or been laid off), particularly among companies that value their employees and colleagues and don't want anyone to lose their jobs. Further, the executive team cut their compensation to near-zero (something we mentioned several times but evidently you missed those all-hands meetings). Our executive team were the lowest paid employees in the company - they specifically cut their pay to below poverty levels so that no one would need to be let go. As a result, we have had to lay off zero people. Zero. And now that things are returning to normal, we have been able to raise salaries once again - less than 3 months later. Contrary to your comment, we never cut compensation "a second time" - covid was the first and only time that happened. Never previously, never since. It seems that what you're upset about is that you accepted reduced pay along with well over half our country, rather than having your colleagues fired. This is not in keeping with our mission or ethos. Further, anyone else who thinks "I think a company should fire some people entirely rather than keep everyone on payroll during a crisis" should not apply to our company. We were able to keep almost 150 people on payroll during covid - all of those people were able to afford rent, buy food, etc. We are exceptionally proud of that. We think you should be too. We wish you the best.
