Pros

I was fairly new to Project Management, and I learned a lot about this position.

Cons

Working at Incyte came with significant challenges that ultimately made it unsustainable for me—especially given the commute to Delaware for a role that could easily be done remotely. Allowing employees to work from home could easily reclaim at least two productive hours per day across the workforce. 1. The workload, hours, and expectation of consistent overtime were unmanageable—especially for salaried employees who aren’t compensated for extra time. 2. There was absolutely no work-life balance, which quickly led to burnout. 3. While many of my colleagues were wonderful, the culture is deeply fragmented. Cliques are common, and management clearly has favorites—creating an environment where accountability is uneven and trust is often eroded. I witnessed several instances where people lied outright to protect themselves, leaving others to clean up the mess. Unfortunately, this kind of behavior was not rare at Incyte. 4. Despite being a full-time employee myself, I noticed the company relies heavily on long-term contractors—some of whom had been there for more than 5 years without being offered permanent positions. So if you are hoping for contract-to-hire, go somewhere else.
