Pros

I genuinely love being able to go to work and not reckon with whether the work I am doing is contributing to the erosion of society. Indeed is a public utility and that alone makes it feel great to work here.

Cons

Compensation consistently improves, but we are definitely not leaders in compensation.

Pros

-Some of the best benefits that you will find at a company. -They are very big on work-life balance. -The CEO is an absolute gem and rare breed of human that generally seems to care about the company’s employees and the impact that they and the company have on the world.

Cons

-There seems to be a lot of discrepancies around salary and pay within the company that has recently come to light. -They rely heavily on pay bands that are not always the most competitive or accurate reflection of what the market dictates (e.g employees in the Scottsdale market are often paid significantly less than counterparts for the same position in Austin or New York despite the cost of living increased by 30% over the last year). -It can be disheartening to know that coworkers are being paid nearly double to what you are largely because of their geographic location. -Some of the GTM strategies around specific products and how they are promoted can be a bit head scratching (e.g. IHP). -post sale support and the training that is offered to roles such as CS can be wildly inconsistent and ultimately impact the clients and sales teams in a negative way. -Career progression and internal mobility can be extremely limited depending on the org you are in.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your experience working at Indeed. We really appreciate your feedback as it will help us improve the way we work. We'd like to address some of your concerns. On compensation, Indeed makes data driven decisions and therefore relies on many sources of information to determine the range of wages of our employees with ongoing updates. For context, ~85% of our ranges have been updated in the last 12 months and all ranges in the last 24 months to reflect market movement. Our main sources of information are salary surveys which provide anonymous market data from companies similar to Indeed and those that we compete with for talent and incumbent information which reflects our internal compensation philosophy, our experience hiring and retaining thousands of employees globally. We also rely on feedback from our global recruiters on salary ranges for hires in the market, employees leaving Indeed for other opportunities and external consultants who assess our data from an independent and unbiased standpoint. In addition, careful attention is given to an employee's position within their respective salary range and performance in the specific role that they hold. Based on these as well as the abovementioned factors, salary determinations are made to ensure we are paying competitively for one’s current role or role at time of promotion.
