Pros

Great teammates, however that is the only pro to working at Indeed.

Cons

If you want to stay stagnant in your career, get treated like a child, be absurdly micro-managed, make around $30k less than other Silicon Valley counterparts, then you should work at Indeed. They do not care about their employees at all. When looking at successful silicon valley companies, they all have a few things in common. They treat their employees like they actually are valued; Indeed does not do that. They also encourage growth and potential in their employees; Indeed does not do that. Other silicon valley companies will actually pay you a decent salary, and have managers who communicate with you transparently instead of giving you vague or no answers or guidance.

Pros

Met some great people. Although most were laid off after two back to back multi thousand person layoffs. Compensation starts out great. But quickly becomes not worth it do to the compounded stress of the position.

Cons

Unrealistic sales targets. Incompetent and petty sales directors. Broken products that they want us to push. Clients who are wasting thousands of dollars and then we are expected to squeeze even more from them. Terrible office culture. Treated like children. This department “SBS” makes up almost a third of revenue in the company yet gets treated like the work dogs. Directors have discretion on interpreting policy which makes it hard to know what’s actually ok and what is not. Varies from team to team. Directors literally do nothing but say you’re not doing enough, even to people who are at the top of the sales board. Directors are incompetent in how to actually do the job and basically baby sit. The target generating system is broken, people are making record breaking amounts of sales and are still not getting close to targets. Room for growth is almost non existent now. Directors will try to stop you from leaving to try and benefit themselves. Work life balance is awful when there is a broken target system causing stress and uncertainty for each new quarter.

Pros

Indeed instills a wonderful team environment where everyone is collaborative, supportive and wants to help one another. The day to day office environment was something I looked forward to and the company itself has a very "people first" mindset. Compensation in sales from a bonus standpoint is very nice (not so much base though) and the unlimited PTO (typically followed UNLESS your director disproves) is such a nice gift since many employees put their all into their sales role.

Cons

I was at Indeed for 5+ years and after about year 3, became "just a number." Indeed started putting unattainable goals in front of reps and then rolled out a product like PPA, skewing the outcome of quarter over quarter growth when clients were racking up charges and then sales ops could not understand still 2 years later, that this should NOT be incorporated in a sales quota if that was never intentional and the rep did all in their power to attempt to coach, prevent, and get in touch with the client about it. The past 6 months, about half of the reps I know and have worked with for a long time have been put on dev plans and PIP's, myself included, with the goal of just being pushed out. Many managers and senior directors are being very hands off in providing any assistance, if they are, and Indeed as a whole seems unable to accept that although yes, many companies are hiring, are not finding value in Indeed nor spending money on advertising and that to avoid layoffs, these companies are having to conserve budget where possible. I was sad to go and sad to be pushed out the way that I felt that I was, when I gave my absolute all to the company and came to work every single day, ready to hit my goals, activity metrics and provide value to all of my clients that I worked with. Director's seem to have given up on having people's backs or even trying to help in attempts to protect themselves, and that will ultimately create a negative environment as it started to with my team my last few months there and even after being gone, continue to hear about on a weekly basis.
