Pros

The best thing about this place is the location in downtown philadelphia; great shopping and lunch options. Depending on the department you work for: - Easy work - Possibly a good place to work if family (and not career) is your top priority - Possible to work and go to school in the evenings - Good place to start a career and then leave

Cons

- Unsatisfying work - Low standards - Unprofessional - Huge salary differentials (some people get paid tons to do little work and others get paid poorly to do a lot of work) - Terrible work politics - Incompetent management - Fledgeling industry (health insurance) - The perks of the past (pre-2006) are over - Uninspiring and unmotivated work environment and culture - Non-profit mentality (cheap!) - Few career advancement opportunities exist for a select group of people. No one wants to rock the boat. Just do the bare minimum, don't complain, and collect your paycheck.

Pros

Health/vision and dental benefits. 401 K plan. Company is convenient to many forms of transportation. Is hiring again after massive layoffs.

Cons

Management poorly communicates to employees. Lack of respect for personal life. Management does not listen to and/or care about others. Cafeteria is expensive and has poor quality food.

Pros

Great benefits, home/life balance, training programs, excellent location in center city or suburban offices. The organization tends to bevery focused on community support from united way to marathons to their "blue crew". The work could be very challenging and rewarding.

Cons

The business still behaves in a very feudal manner, the "lords" and "ladies" who are officers and senior directors are treated with kid gloves and insulated behind their moats...
