Pros

College town, likely to have educated coworkers. Employment varies greatly. It is entirely possible to land a decent job with good compensation and work-life balance.

Cons

It is possible to land a job where micromanagement rules. Some positions have 4-5 quite visible supervisors. It feels like there are more managers than workers, with no tangible results in a long time. Insufficient training provided. No incentive for managers to value workers. On average, very low pay, with benefits diminishing over the years. Management pay exemplifies the rest of the U.S., where it is disproportionately heavy on top, and not making a living wage at the bottom. Disparity between self-promotion ("values") and actual actions.
