Pros

Definitely different than a corporation. It's not cut-throat. It's pretty laid back. Very little outside work required. Basically, people treat you as a human. Also, it's a great university, so it's wonderful being a part of that mission. Great benefits, like time off, medical, etc.

Cons

Low pay compared to corporations. Lots of bureaucracy because it's a public institution. Really low yearly raises. High parking cost.

Benefits are great. Good Health insurance, Tuition Fee Courtesy are major perks. Flexible depending on supervisor and department

Cons

Pay for parking, which takes a HUGE chuck out of paycheck, especially if you are support staff.
