Pros

In the right division, one can exercise great intellectual freedom. Also, free gym and access to fantastic libraries, if you're into that sort of thing.

Cons

Dinosaur bureaucracy; low pay; haven for those who never left college.

Pros

The collections are phenomenal and the rest of the staff is friendly. You have the potential to grow enormously.

Cons

You won't make anything if you aren't a librarian position and the only people who are have been prompted from within. The amount of work required can be overwhelming at times.

Pros

I had very flexible hours; got to work it out with whomever I was tutoring. I picked the courses I would tutor. I was able to impact other people's learning experience.

Cons

I can't think of many cons. Very strict rules for athletes. Not much feedback from instructor I worked with on how I did.
