Pros

Indian University is nestled in my beautiful home town of Bloomington IN. Great culture, great food, small town feel while generally having everything you nee/ want (including a HUGE disparity from the wealthiest to the normal "townies" = non-student here on Mommy and Daddy's buck)

Cons

IU has a large body of ready and willing young students are aren't in much of a position to demand benefits or a better paying job, or just don't know how to do such a thing, so IU gets away with paying their people crap. Some positions have great benefits, especially if you have a family, but mostly they keep you just under full time so they don't have to give you any.

Pros

There are some great people working for IU doing amazing work. The benefits here can't be beat. There is plenty of learning and resources for self improvement.

Cons

Indiana University gives very low salaries compared to market positions. Be sure to get everything in writing if there are agreements made at negotiations time.
