Pros

Professional workplace, lower workplace politics, focussed atmosphere and a good benefits package make it a good place to work at. Bloomington is a small but nice city.

Cons

Bloomington is a typical college town, so it might not be ideal for all. The lack of an interstate close by is something I miss.

Pros

The expense at Bloomington is low compare to other cities. Indiana University has beautiful campus. Colleagues at my department are very nice and easy to work with.

Cons

It is a quite city. Life is not entertaining. Researcher position has limited professional advancement opportunities compared to a faculty position.
