Pros

Employees are enthusiastic, and the environment is laid back. IU is located in a really nice town and the university seems to value work life balance.

Cons

University is so large it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. Other than that I mostly had a good experience

Pros

IU offers job security, great benefits (health care, time off, software discounts), and decent pay (for the most part). They also offer many opportunities for professional development.

Cons

Having to pay for a parking tag and then having an extremely hard time finding a parking spot, the amount of red take it takes to get things done, and the cost of having things done by other departments is out of this world. They also enter into contracts with vendors (which means we have to purchase from them) that make the product cost more than it would if you bought it straight out.

Flexible schedules, Intellectual knowledge base, Software resources, Current computing technology offered for work purposes, Comfortable & calm work environment, Professional staff who are very informative and helpful (many who are underpaid for their skill sets).

Cons

Limited current job openings for entry level job seekers as the economy recovers, and no yearly or semester based hourly rate increases for specific position.
