Pros

PTO for exempt employees is hard to beat, flexibility (in my particular office), good colleagues, mission (again, specific to my unit), fundraising work culture is pretty healthy and collegial. It's possible to move up/around, especially in fundraising, where they want to promote from within. I clicked "recommend to a friend," but it really depends on what exact job you're looking for, and more importantly, what office it's in/who would be your supervisor. My pay is good because I'm in fundraising, but so many admin jobs pay terribly!

Cons

Health coverage for employees and families is expensive, PTO for non-exempt people is much weaker than for exempt, high-up leadership is out of touch with demands of employees and students (including president, board, provost), constant change, no communication from higher-ups about sudden changes, revenue model for schools highly disincentivizes collaboration to a majorly detrimental degree, suppression of free speech when the leadership doesn't like it, office culture varies wildly from one department to the next so you never know what you're getting into

Pros

Great opportunities in the field of research

Cons

The pay they offer is very less for the level of expertise expected.
