The best thing about working for IU is that most jobs are hybrid (onsite & remote). There is also quite a bit of flexibility in terms of when you are scheduled to work which helps with your work-life balance. Downtown is a nice location for lunch. There are a great number of options to choose from and it's also nice to be able to take a good walk on your break. I recommend getting out of the office on nice days for lunch and taking advantage of that time outside. There are some opportunities for advancement depending on where you work and what your career path is. Tuition reimbursement is a plus.

Cons

1. Not the best location - if you work downtown, parking is awful. Parking passes are expensive, And while it's probably the best option, it doesn't help that parking is limited. If you don't arrive early enough, you won't find a space and will have to park far away or park in a garage or on a meter, which defeats the purpose. And parking on the meter gets expensive. It's not really ideal. Parking in the garage is likely the best case, however, they fill up pretty quickly and you need to arrive by a certain time so you'll have to build in additional travel time. 2. Not the best pay. If you're not a senior level employee, the pay is not even average for some positions. 3. The benefits could be better. You could get a less expensive plan on the marketplace or pay out of pocket and come out ahead compared to IU's benefits packages.
