Pros

Close to home. I like working with/ for the students

Cons

Not always pleasant work atmosphere and gross pay inequities. Those who do the least or are buddies with upper mgmt. get compensated the most. No appreciation of one’s dedication or hard work.

As a long-term employee, we truly appreciate your input. As such too, please speak with your management about your feelings. Being a long-term employee, you would have a lot of good information to share with them.

Sorry for the experience you had but glad to see that wrongs were corrected with the manager resigning.

Pros

The benefits are what keeps you there.

Cons

When I first hired in it was a fun place to work, everyone was friendly and helpful. Then budget started to get tighter. Then the gossip, back biting, and nepotism is what made it a place to run from...... Several at the top resigned....some retired early. Those who remained the new management replaced or forced retirement within a two year period on those who were higher earners (but had the most time in.)

Thanks for your input and your long years of service to IU. We do our best to remain competitive while maintaining our budgets. We realize that it is critical to retain the best and the brightest but that isn't always the case, especially when people decide to retire.
