Leadership is struggling

Pros

They know how to spend money

Cons

leadership comes off as aloof and unapologetic and apathetic when making tough decisions. they claim to be saving to invest by laying off ~100 people and cutting software (breaking contracts left and right). But at the same time are hiring many VPs and promoting people. There was a travel freeze that only a few teams adhered to. They claim to do everything backed by data but never produce data to show that any of their decisions have any basis other than someone's opinion.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Leadership teams must often make very difficult decisions, and it is important for them to be communicated in an empathetic, transparent fashion. While we have tried to do this with recent changes, we may not have hit the mark. Rest assured, the changes we’re going through now are designed to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of our company.

Pros

Company has good pay and pretty good benefits. Moved to unlimited PTO when became clear that buyout by Vista private equity firm meant no more RSU's or employee stock purchase plans shares. CEO has clear vision but loss of institutional knowledge from loss of long time employees is worrisome. Corporate culture better than many other companies. Product has 50% market share so still very attractive as a saleable product.

Cons

Company morale seems soaring at Tacoma, WA location, but sagging badly in Santa Clara, CA HQ which has offshored many Finance roles to India in recent months. Recent compaction of all Santa Clara employees from 2 buildings into 1 has added some energy, but added to stress too. Turnover still too high. Vista's silly online personality testing before and after hire seems a bit intrusive and big brother like. Losing some good job candidates that don't want to deal with this type of nonsense. Way too many employees looking to get out. No longer seems like a long term home, which is sad.

Uncertainty- work here at your own financial risk

Pros

Decent benefits, friendly coworkers, good medical coverage, free snacks and stocked kitchens in every floor, responsive facilities team, no micro-management if you know what you're doing.

Cons

Pay is low relative to industry standards, especially for the Bay Area/Silicon Valley. Quarterly bonuses were hardly ever paid in the last few years due to iffy performances, we were lucky if we achieved 1 bonus payout. Now even that's gone- there are now merit reviews every six months to determine bonuses. We have been recently sold to Vista Equity Partners, so I would not recommend coming to Infoblox- we don't know how long your position will last, or how long our own will last. For the last few years, the company goal has evolved to making shareholders happy, so cut jobs and perks to increase their shareholder value. With the new executive staff, it feels like they are giving up on Infoblox and selling us to deepen their own pockets.
