Pros

Informatica has one of the best work cultures in the industry. Having worked in more than 10 product companies, I can easily say Informatica has an Employee inclusive Product strategy.

Cons

Some products which have shared ownership with corresponding teams in US, have no say in the Product Architecture\technologies and have to just follow directions from US team.

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback. Its great to see that you are experiencing the culture we aim to provide - that of an inclusive one. While you say its inclusive, it is obvious that we make an attempt to involve people globally. In a scenario where there is joint responsibility, the specifics of ownership are called out. If you feel, there is something better we can do or something needs to be fixed, please feel free to write to your VP or our Chief Product Officer directly. I am sure if there is room for improvement, we will certainly like to fix it. Alternatively, please feel free to reach out to my team or me to have a chat on this topic incase you wish to. regards

Pros

Boutique consulting , old guard is still tech savvy, the core practices like MDM, IDQ and DI are still doing all the heavy lifting. There is good demand for technically skilled consultants in the industry

Cons

A lot of non revenue generating overheads like strategic consulting and business transformation verticals have been added to the IPS BU these are a huge drag on IPS revenue. There has been a systematic influx of suits in the IPS who have added zilch in terms of business development or even technical prowess but only serve as a dead-weight in the organization all they do is churn PPTs and talk .

Thank you for your review of working at Informatica. Structurally, our Informatica Professional Services (IPS) organization is essentially as flat as it was 10 years ago or more, which is amazing when one considers its growth over that time. We benchmark our business with the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA) and Informatica is on par with our peer group. So the allegation that layers of non-essential personnel have been added simply is not borne out by the facts. Our strategic consulting services are provided by very experienced senior personnel (10+ years on average as Technical Architecture Managers, or TAMs). Our TAMs are the most highly requested resource for the practice from our enterprise customers. Our Business Transformation Services team uses the BOST™ Framework (Business | Operations | Systems | Technology) to provide a holistic approach that links technical architecture to business strategy. This allows Informatica to gain a much deeper understanding of our customers’ businesses and develop relationships as trusted advisors with more of our enterprise accounts. This, in turn, affords our people more opportunities to move beyond purely technical counsel into the realm of management consulting. The success of our IPS organization is proof positive that our approach works and – more importantly – that our customers place great value on it.
