Pros

You can leverage the experience to work someplace else. There are so many shifting priorities on a almost daily basis. Yu are to develop meaningful collateral, however, if you do not help or directly sell any work, your collateral is meaningless. You work with career counselor who are directed to help find assignments , however, they have no input as to reviews and are worthless when you ask direct questions as to direction and priorities.

Cons

Mixed messages as to expectations of job performance and goals. Senior management has so many shifting priorities that the messages to employees are not at all consistent. They also tend to shed workers that are working on revenue generating projects simply to reduce head count. They cannot see the forest because the trees are in the way. They have very little proactive thinking and every changing priority is at the highest level.

Pros

If you have no job at all.. And you get through Infosys. Then I guess you need to continue till you find a better employer..

Cons

If you travel onsite through infosys, be prepared to come back anytime even the very day. They will not pay all lease breakage expenses. Keep giving you false assurances. They recommend that if you are married , it's not a good idea to take your spouse along. Even if the assignment is for years. If you do take your spouse along, they will make sure you have such hard time that you will feel like coming back the same day. They are very indifferent to our financial situation. When they ask you to move to another location . Be it be within 2 days of arriving in US. They will pay you only $200 . you need to manage your car rental (If you are travelling to another end of US, you will need to get your car towed) and initial accomodation. We(Me and my spouse) are staying in a hotel in one room since 3 months because we can be asked to move anytime. We came to US on a 1 year assignment. We were asked to move to another location in 3 months. They refused to pay the lease breakage expenses. So we took a loan from them. It's barely been 3 months since we moved here and we have been asked to travel back to India. They expect us to pay back the loan (dollars) in rupees!!

Pros

> Leadership from top management > Importance to values & ethics by top management > Ability to utilize the collective Knowledge within Infosys > Various types of opportunities which you can get if you are lucky

Cons

> Crappy middle management(2nd tier/3rd tier) - not aligned with the visions of top management(Board) > HR policies are primarily top-down & has lot of loop holes when it comes to salary issues. After every review, there will be one set of people losing out because of the top down approach. > HR & Finance is handled by single person & has led to company primarily focusing on quarterly results, margin & other financial metrics > No employee can know whether his/her salary is correct or not > No flexibility for employees to chose the kind of work they want to do > Onsite employees are made to slog at odd hours - no work-life balance & no good compensation for people slogging > No real contribution to IT community. Only consumption of good work from open source & other IT communities.
