Hard-working people driven out by profit-obsessed management
Pros
Good training for those new to the industry. You can disappear as a tiny cog in a giant corporate machine, if you like that sort of thing. Team members are generally supportive and friendly (although this should be expected).
Cons
Non-competitive compensation. Very high turnover of staff (I lost count of the number of colleagues who left for competitor agencies). Pressure to take on regular evening and weekend work. Overtime was not remunerated. Projects were consistently under-resourced, creating an overall unpleasant and stressful work environment. Employees were encouraged to “make it matter” for patients, while upper management used incessant corporate buzzwords to relentlessly drive profits. Acquisition by private equity was very poorly communicated to the workforce.
