Pros

- Vast majority of bosses are competent - Several teams full of good people - Remote work

Cons

- 8 minute inactivity timer - No recourse for incompetent bosses - Get moved around to teams constantly (5+ completely different projects in 1 year) - 3 different managers within 5 months - Certain projects are full of sexist coworkers, luck of the draw - Maintaining morale is hard with constant project changes, friends leaving left and right, slim chance of upward mobility - Modest salary, expensive health benefits, no bonus, no retirement matching - Company, ergo its employees, completely subject to the whims of Big Tech company it depends on - Getting laid off, then getting a rehire attempt with slashed hours, slashed pay and no benefits

Pros

It's remote (although they forbid people from moving if they want to keep their jobs) and the tasks generally take little attention. Coworkers are generally very friendly. Salary is middling but benefits are fine.

Cons

Lots of sudden random movement from team to team, with people frequently ending up on projects that they have no expertise in. No raises, bonuses, or cost of living adjustments (despite the regular announcements about record profits). There's a culture of silence around things like waves of layoffs or business choices, so most employees are in the dark about everything. Promotions are few and far between with little insight into how to obtain them. Overall, little to no respect for workers, few to no opportunities for growth. Don't expect anything more than cranking away at AI gruntwork.
