Pros

Great team environment with flexibility of being remote for some positions. I get to work on a diverse range of geospatial/database/application products, allowing me to learn and challenge myself. Genuinely feel valued as an employee and a person.

Cons

I had not worked remotely before this position, and it did take time to get used to staying connected from a distance, but it is possible! PTO is not great, but schedules are flexible, so the PTO has not ended up being a huge issue over the last several years.

Pros

A growing company that is remote by design. This means that everything is in place to work where you can get into a flow. Everyone from HR to Mgmt to Dev teams is super nice and sincerely cares about each other. The company is growing and that comes with changes but I am always impressed with how change is approached and communicated. While being remote you are never more than a click or two from Slacking with a co-worker and getting the answers you need. If you are the kind of person that can keep track of multiple projects and deliverables this can be a very fun place to be.

Cons

Government projects can be slow and there can be red tape (by design). If you are looking for a go-fast-and-break-things then this is not a good fit.
