-Almost cult-like worship of the out-of-touch CEO who thinks he is 'woke' and not out-of-touch -Grind culture is still very prevalent here. Often heard fellow employees "bragging" about how late they stayed and they definitely expect and anticipate this attitude from everyone. If you don't subscribe to grind culture then you will not succeed here -No time given for continuing education (pursuing certifications, etc)...despite being promised upon hiring that I would be given time to study -When I did take time to study, was repeatedly chastised for not hitting billable hours (they want 6.5 billable hours a day, AND each day is supposed to have 9 hours of total tracked time), They track each employee and display their billable hours stats on giant TVs around the office...if your numbers are low, they will shame and complain -Wild and drastic goals of trying to grow and hire 200% in a year...despite not being able to fill all their current engineers time with relevant projects. -Was let go out of the blue, roughly a month after getting a bonus (that they didn't give to the whole company, so I'm at that point assuming they are liking what I'm doing) because they said they didn't have any projects for me and none coming down the pipeline for the next few months and didn't want to keep me on salary doing nothing for a few months....this was probably less than a month after their ENTIRE sales team went to the Bahamas for a week for team-building and strategizing...they clearly had no issue paying for that and bragged about...and maybe if the sales team was focusing on selling rather than a tropical vacation disguised as a work event then maybe there would be enough work for the engineers. Not having enough projects for engineers is a SALES issue, not an engineering issue. -Their priorities are clearly messed up
