Smart, motivated team (staff level). Decent support for improvement initiatives from hospital leadership. Employees are well-resourced, when Inova isn’t pretending to be poor due to self-inflicted financial wounds.

Cons

I believe that Dr. Jones genuinely believes all the patient first/teamwork/rah rah stuff, and if that actually translated to the frontline workers, things would be great. But there is little oversight on the AVP/director level management to ensure alignment with those goals; many of the leaders are holdovers from the prior, much more punitive regime, and nothing was done to help them transition from the dark side. No training, audits, nothing. Any complaints and specific examples of mismanagement are hushed up by HR. Our team had near 100% turnover in the last four years and there has been zero investigation into why.

New RNs even with only 1 year of experience easily start at around $ 50-60/ hr. They are nice and negotiable with salary, easy job, slow pace, no weekends, no holidays. Lunch is provided almost everyday, can rest and take a break whenever you want, can take PTO or absences whenever and as long as you want. Manager is great and understanding, not punitive. Manager give autonomy, never helicopter. Give amazing raise to everyone, all fair and square. Very pleasant to work, everyone is very nice. Apply ASAP. Can move up to any position you want. Not clicky, everyone is your friend. HR is very nice and always friendly, can open up to them without issues.
