Cons

Hiring all brand new nurses to save money. Dangerous practice in their ERs. Does not value or care about staff. Managers care only about numbers not staff or patients. Their bonuses are based on production which means the more they can understaff the more money they make. Turn over is high

Decent place for inhospitable EMT’s

Pros

The pay is low for the work we do but high compared to other hospitals (as far as I know). You work 3 12 hour shifts a week (7 am-7pm, 11 am-11 pm, 3:30 pm-3:30 am, or 7 pm-7am). You pick what days/hours you work which is extremely convenient. Staffing is decent to the point where staff are often given the option to go home early with the additional option of using their pto to fill in the missing hours. Lots of bonus shifts with an additional $250 bonus if you pick it up.

Cons

Overall the base pay is extremely low for the work done. I’ve been assaulted/threatened by patients on multiple occasions as have many coworkers. The environment is pretty dirty and hectic due to the number of patients we see daily. Patients are often rude or disrespectful because of issues out of our control. If the pay was increased and the department was expanded to properly treat the number of patients we have I would give it 4-5 stars.

Once you know your job you are free and micro managing is not existent. Benefits are great compared to local companies.

Cons

Management is poor, if you don't follow their politics you are on their radar. Forget trying to do the right thing with hippa and what is right. They will do whatever to build a case against you and have you terminated.
