Could be doing more for their employees
Pros
We have benefits. It's a good first job in healthcare.
Cons
-Inova does not pay employees enough to live in the area. 75% of my monthly income is equal to a cheap 2 bedroom apartment in the surrounding 4 counties. That is not feasible for a one income family. This forces a majority of techs AND nurses to look for a 2nd job on their days off. -The health insurance is ok...but I still get alot of bills, my biggest one's have been from emergency room visits to Inova facilities. - There is favoritism when people do or don't get write ups. The rules don't apply evenly to everyone. -Your paid time off (PTO) is sick and vacation lumped together. You have to accrue PTO hours (5 per pay period) in order to use them. -The call out policy has gotten stricter throughout the years and they don't care if you or your dependents are sick. 3 call outs in a year and you will get a warning, 4 and you get written up. This is pretty unfair considering we work with SICK people. -As a tech there is no room for growth. - Security is worthless. There are very few officers that are helpful and capable of doing their job. If there is ever an emergency we do not have back up.
