Pros
Good benefits, competitive salary compared to other health systems, and reputable place to work. This is a good place to work if you are satisfied with the status quo, prefer equal redistribution regardless of performance, and stability-- basically fans of the federal workforce will love it here.
Cons
If you are a high performer, you may be frustrated here. HR runs the organization similar to a government entity. Performance based compensation structures are lacking and recognition of accomplishments are dispersed, rather than focused. The 80-20 rule applies in many instances where 80% of the work is being done by 20% yet compensation and bonuses are equally distributed and recognition is dispersed as well. If you're a socialist at heart that is satisfied just coming home each week with a paycheck and not doing anything to improve yourself while still receiving bonuses, this is the place for you.
