      Pros

      "Powers that be" does best to, understandably, balance budget for expense vs. pay for workers (a challenge for a non profit) Staff can be friendly (unless busy and stressed - some)

      Cons

      Director is always nice and cooperative, Supervisor and other staff could do better (professionalism and fairness would be nice - although it is improving a little bit)

      Pros

      Inova still has a great reputation in the DMV area for care received, and having them on a resume is a positive thing. There is almost always an opportunity for overtime due to the constant need to fill staffing grids.

      Cons

      Inova pays on the low side of the average for the DMV area, and the staffing on almost every unit is always in dire straits due to a high turnover rate and poor management of staffing levels. They can't keep management in place long enough to effect change due to the combination of their unrealistic expectations and low compensation. The executive end of the company is more concerned with acquiring holdings rather than retaining and rewarding employees for their hard work and loyalty to the patients and the company.

      Pros

      Healthcare incentive plan is great. If you jump through the hoops you can pay as low as $15/pay period for comprehensive healthcare

      Cons

      Treat wage workers like children. Not trusted with time management. Even if you are on time 351 days out of the year you get "dinged" for being one minute late. You aren't allowed to swipe in "early." Even if you are assigned patients through your lunch break you are not allowed to swipe "no lunch."
