      Pros

      The hours are flexible. You do get lengthy training. The hospital acknowledge staff every so often and are making small efforts to improve.

      Cons

      Like with any big corporation your ideas are not always listened to. If you get hurt on the job, you have to fend for yourself, even if it was caused by a patient. The hospital does NOT have your back. Job security is not guaranteed. For staff who are not RNs it's hard to move up (salary wise), although there is a salary range for every job.

      Pros

      Inova is growing and expanding to include ambulatory and outpatient areas. It is definitely a world class organization. Lots of room to grow within the company, big a promoting from within.

      Cons

      Your promotions are based on years of service. Yes you can technically move or transfer into another job within six months but it pays better if you complete a full year.

      Pros

      Staff are committed to providing excellence in patient care delivery and being knowledgeable regarding latest treatment and procedure and treatment modalities. Recognized nationally for various medical specialities.

      Cons

      Punitive work environment for failure to meet desired metrics, communication between corporate and senior leadership and middle management and staff guarded with little transparency, lack of trust throughout the organization. Pay and benefits mid range with no increase in salary for senior staff. Professional education available however limited funding for external professional education and or education towards the advanced degrees.
