Pros

What is left of the technical staff seems pretty competent. Maybe not the right mix for what the company is trying to become, though.

Cons

Management chaos. Communication between middle management and executive staff almost non-existent. Company trying to make a transition from a device/commodity hardware company to a SAAS, IOT company, yet management laid off nearly the entire staff with any familiarity with enterprise development. Recent acquisitions, purchased with an eye to jump start the IOT effort have only befuddled the executive staff in their strategy.

In Feb. 2016, we announced signing a definitive asset purchase agreement to sell our telematics hardware business to Micronet Enertec Technologies, Inc., for a total purchase price of $24 million. For the last 18 months, Novatel Wireless has positioned itself as a leading global provider of solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), including software-as-a-service (SaaS), not simply a hardware provider.

Pros

Based in San Diego California

Cons

The company depends on old MIFI tech product to survive but needs to find a way to move into IoT for revenue and profitability. It wont make the leap because it is not willing to invest in growth. I give it 12 to 24 months before its in bankruptcy

Great technology company in wrong hands

Pros

Great engineering team with smart people and nice middle management. Always works on cutting edge technology and ahead of the industry. Produces quality products for most of the customers in US and globally.

Cons

Absolutely unpredictable upper management. Has been going through lots of turmoil due to the bad decisions by management who doesn't have any touch with reality or engineering team. Anyone can lose his job any time without any logic.
