      Difficult Transition from Hardware to SaaS

      Pros

      Lack of experience in several crucial areas required for SaaS, can mean individuals with just cursory knowledge in their field, can be viewed as superstars.

      Cons

      All jobs other than 3-5 senior executive positions are headed for South Africa within the next two years. I work for the division being sold to TCL, and our new leadership recently confirmed what many of us had long suspected.

      Growing Pains

      Pros

      Great atmosphere to work. Wonderful co-workers and fun activities. The health and dental benefits are good. Oh, they really know how to do Halloween!

      Cons

      The company has aspirations of growing, but not a real good idea of how to do it. The part of the company I worked at in Eugene could have been a great money maker, but the application of the technology was poorly done and maintained. They needed to improve their testing regimen before releasing products especially their SasS. I was recently laid off, I believe because of the bottom line, not because of any performance issues.
