Pros

Great time off benefits, good work life balance, Ability to share knowledge and bounce ideas with other Human Resource Professionals

Cons

Artificial. Management lacks sincerity and it shows. Managers are glorified leads and task masters with no leadership skills. Promotions based on which church one attends (majority of local leadership belong to the same church) and who you can invite to a party or who you are "in with". They go through the motions of asking for feedback with no intention of addressing the issues, possibly because they are not given the ability to do so. All suggestions and negative feedback is outright ignored. Performance markers are set so that they cannot be achieved. For a company which is debt free and doing well financially, they do not pay the employees at market rate, constantly cutting basic "perks". The penny pinching is loud and clear.

Pros

The benefits were good quality and reasonably priced. The work locations were aesthetically pleasing to go to every day. At first the company looks great. Over time, however, you see the poor leadership in action time and again and you slowly lose trust in it. When you see what floats to the top, and stop drinking the kool-aid, you realize that most of the "good parts" of working there are an illusion. It is sad really.

Cons

The people who rise to positions of leadership are untrustworthy. Career Opportunities are extremely limited. And mostly of the horizontal kind - and I mean that in more than one way.
