Pros

* Superior job security * High intellectual integrity * Access to, and impact on, the high offices of the most powerful military in the world

Cons

* Basically just strategy consulting for the Pentagon -- no real research * No financial reward for out-performance or doing the work of more than one person

Pros

There is a good work life balance. IDA hires w/o experience and provides great benefits. Great coworkers Own office (most of the time)

Cons

Pay is definitely not competitive with respect to private industry. Also work can be mundane during lulls. Cafeteria is not the best. Located in the middle of nowhere. Lots of old people.
