      Not the IDA I Know

      Pros

      Wow. I’m sorry to hear that the former Research Staff Member who posted Oct 29, 2017, had such a terrible experience, but this is not the IDA I know. As a female manager, I am respected and have never observed disrespectful behavior in my male colleagues. I value decency and respect for all. I am especially proud of Lisa Veitch, who received our top award for excellence in research in 2015.

      Would be nice to have more women in senior management positions!

      As a researcher, you get to work on a range of challenging projects and contribute meaningfully As a female engineer, I have always felt valued and supported I have been given a number of professional development opportunities in my short time at this company Management is supportive of building relationships with employees and organizations that support a diverse workforce Great retirement benefits

      Cons

      Since sponsoring agencies ultimately own the work, you don't always get public acknowledgement or get to publish your research Since the organization is pretty flat, there are not a lot of opportunities for career promotions (but you can take on the management of new and different projects)
