Pros

The research staff and support personnel are bright, multi=talented and generally friendly and mutually supportive.

Cons

Once you are in place, your role rarely changes. Staff development is a haphazard affair, and management can run the gamut.

Pros

Plenty of intellectual latitude; Constant flow of interesting projects & very bright colleagues; Freedom to keep your own schedule, so makes for excellent work-life balance; Friendly & courteous colleagues, no management hierarchy; High level of job security & academic lifestyle (but with a much more attractive salary!)

Cons

If you are a new employee & you are waiting on your security clearance, you will be placed in not-so-comfortable cubicles in conference rooms till your clearance comes through (you cannot enter the main building without an escort at all times). Also, organizational structure is very flat - not much room for career growth if you are looking to get into management.

Pros

The new kitchens are nice, there's a cafeteria here (expensive and bad, but still a pro i guess), good for grumpy old white men, good pension plan

Cons

questionable employee hygiene, poor environment with weird people, people apparently like to talk down to other people, bad location (try driving up and down 95 and 395 every single day or taking the metro and adding at least an hour to your commute)
