Started great and has steadily declined
Pros
Stocked kitchens and beautiful office with scenic views in great part of town, MacBooks and options to WFH during COVID, weekly catered lunches, access to ski passes and great incentives to have a gym membership.
Cons
The pay is not competitive whatsoever for Support (bottom 10% of industry) despite being the back bone of Canvas and the contact facing side for end-users such as school administration, teachers, students, and sometimes parents. No replacement for employee stock program when company went private and was bought out and, as of 2 days ago, benefits restructuring for 2021 that overhauls major points of employee happiness - i.e. employer-paid insurance premiums, remote till July 2021 (which is mostly due to COVID, but no increase in pay for lost in-office benefits that many accept pay cuts for), and 401k match is much, much lower than other companies of its caliber (50% match up to 4%, most companies match 100% up to 6%). Support seems to be the separated from the rest of the company in work-life balance and in terms of competitive wages. Moving up in the company is also *extremely* difficult and rare.
