Pros

The only pro I can come up with is that the CEO just retired.

Cons

Insurity doesn't do any performance reviews and sometime ago determined that "performance raises" would not be given. Additionally this year they cut the individual bonus by 75%! Management also believes that a 45 hour work week isn't doing your fai share. The Insurity moto is do more and get paid less!

Pros

Health benefits are on spot with other companies. Somewhat flexible working plan, if you are on your manager and project managers good side. Do not expect less than 50hr work weeks and to be diligent about following your project plan. There are annual "bonuses" if the company hits a target number, but don't expect more than 1% unless you are in goods with home office upper management. And this 1% will be all you see for the entire year.

Cons

Acquired by Insurity and has been a nightmare since. Pay-for-performance. No guidelines on things you can do to increase your pay. Have not seen a raise in 5+ years. Micromanaging Project Managers brought in. Incompetent BA & QA managers - they don't know P&C Insurance, they don't know software SDLC's.... You will never have a successful implementation because it is set up to fail almost from the start. Classic over promise under deliver. Annual layoffs.... yes ANNUAL... and when you are downsized do not expect any professional courtesy. Literally days before the start of the winter holiday season.... an HR rep. appeared at my branch office invited me into a room to and I kid you not "discuss a new opportunity" to which I was informed my position was eliminated. But I "shouldn't feel bad because other's were impacted too" that doesn't make ME feel better it's horrible who wants to lose there job right before the holidays!?! As the discussion ended I had never felt so humiliated in my entire life. I had dedicated half of my life, 60+hrs a week for months on end, gave up family time, vacations etc. basically to be kicked to the curb like trash. "But not to worry, you qualify for cobra"....yea IF you can afford it... and "you are offered a severance package" that will most certainly not last until you find a job because NO ONE hires end of 4th quarter and the first half of the first quarter. I was downsized to fulfill a budgetary number for the year, not because business was lost, or I was a poor performer, I was just a number on a chart. What a kick in the rear to lose my job so the president can keep his bonus for the year.

Pros

Competitive salary, fair amount of time off, technical challenges, smart co-workers, casual dress, quality technology.

Cons

Little to no collaboration, managers who aren't natural leaders, a mentality where everyone's focus is handling what comes over the wall and never focused on how to do things better.
