Good Company

Pros

They are constantly looking to better its processes and the company. All of the home office staff were helpful and readily available to answer questions or help out the local communities. I was very fortunate to have a great team assigned to me to help keep me on track. I learned A LOT working with them. When we were bought out they immediately stepped in and helped with the process so the directors didn't feel overwhelmed and once we were officially part of ISL the business office directors were whisked away for a weeks worth of training with the staff. We were really sad when we were bought out again and had to leave the ISL team. The company is growing and has tried very hard to accommodate growth spurts and continue to support each community during the process. It was a good company to work for.

Cons

The benefits package wasn't great- not only was it expensive but they didn't offer much other than the basics- medical, dental, vision. They started a 401K but didnt offer to match and within 6 months the staff were told they would have to pay the bookkeeping fees every quarter. Many opted to quit putting in but later realized that since they already had money in they were still expected to pay the fees. It wasn't a very well thought out plan.

Pros

The office was only 5-10 minutes from where I lived.

Cons

The management managed by fear. Salaries were not appropriate. Directors had to clock in and out and only got a 30 minute lunch break, which was difficult to accomplish with the workload. Workload was out of proportion to what was needed to get the job done. The demand to write people up for the smallest error was inappropriate and unbelievable.
