Pros

Meet lots of new people but never have the time to socialize on breaks because they require you to take time out of your breaks for walking to and from work station which could be up to 3-5 mins from break room so a 15 min break might only be 5-7 mins of actually taking a break. Free hot chocolate and coffee, coffee sucks though. Lots of integrity staffing always pushing you to work faster and harder so the company can make a better profit. Big on safety, only so you dont get hurt and have them pay for workers comp or sue them. Lots of exercise!! For twelve hours that they make you work after they hire you to only work ten.

Cons

Stupid attendance point system, u cant call call off more than three days without being fired. If you clock in one min late you get half a point. Staff does not accommodate with employees points or other issues affection attendance in any way, its just tough luck. Be sure to get in line for your paycheck half hour early or else you'll be waiting in line for an hour. Drive to work so you get there 45 mins early because it will take you 30 just to get in the parking lot and parked. Also 30 mins to get out after you get off work. So on top of the twelve hour shift plus the 30 min lunch break and the hour to and from work you are only putting in 13 and a half hours....so good luck getting enough sleep and dont count on time to do anything else with your life.

Pros

You get to work with a variety of people. Young and old from many different backgrounds. Some positions in the warehouse you are basically being paid to work out. Cold water dispensers throughout the warehouse to keep you hydrated. Free coffee.

Cons

Employees are not rotated through different positions often enough. You may work on packing lines which are not very hectic. You do some lifting but not much over your head and there is always someone near by to help if you need it. Working on the shipping dock is where the problems begin. This involves loading a trailer by hand. You will be lifting packages up to 50lbs and loading them into a semi trailer. Amazon expects these trailers to be loaded all the way to the top which is about 9 feet. So lifting 50 lbs packages up over your head. This is perfectly fine for a few hours. The problem starts when you are working 5 12 hour days and doing this every single day. I informed 2 managers that I was injured and could not do this work every single day and neither one of them seemed to care. This eventually lead to me having to quit because my body just could not handle lifting these packages for so many hours. If you are already in EXCELLENT shape this shouldn't be a problem for you. But coming from a desk job I just couldn't do it without a few weeks of adjustment. Integrity and Amazon don't give you any time to adjust. They expect you to do this for 60 hours a week from the day you start. This brings me to my next con. Integrity will tell you that you are starting in a different position then you really are. I was never informed about having to load trailers like this. I was told I would be picking packages and walking 10-20 miles a day. This was perfectly fine with me and is what I wanted to do. Upon arriving to work the first day we were told that they tell everyone they will be a picker because in the past they hired people and then they did not want to do all of the walking. Lastly, these Amazon warehouses are very large. It can take 5 - 10 minutes to walk from your job location to the break room. They expect you to clock out the second lunch starts, and to be back in your work position exactly 30 minutes later. This basically cuts your 30 minute lunch down to 10 minutes. There is barley enough time to even heat up your food, eat, and use the restroom.

Great Experience But Very Bad Place To Work

Pros

Meeting all kinds of different people and being able to be active with learning different things.

Cons

First step is, ISS made the huge mistake of telling hundreads of people that it is so easy for them to get converted to Amazon employees and never mentioned that Amazon was only in need of a certain number. The rest of the employees would then be put on a seasonal type of work only. I was out of work so getting hired by ISS and then released by ISS was not a burden or a loss for me as it was for many other people, who due to being misinformed by the ISS employess at the Chattanooga office, many quit their former jobs to come work full time for Amazon. Amazon, overall is not a bad company to work for, however; their biggest and dumbest mistake is the Integrity Staffing Solutions or ISS, that they have choosen to work with in order to staff their open and seasonal positions. I have never been late for work, never had any bad reports. In fact, these so called "coaches of ISS, have all written nothing but good reports about me meeting the weekly goals. If that is not enough, I have also excellent reviews from the Amazone floor managers and have been recommended for other duties whenever help was needed in another part or department of the warehouse. Mine is just one example of a few good people who worked their rear end off and got the job done right as we were expected to and even better. ISS also meesed up because they penalized me for my military duties. Amazon is a strong supporter of the military but Integrity Staffing is not. I gave my ISS supervisors more than a month advance of my military duty requirement and stated that I would need a day and half off for duty and travel time. My travel time was six plus hours driving. All my notifications and requests went completely unanswered until two days before the Friday I was supposed to leave early to drive. One of the ISS managers came up and began to harrass me about how come he did not have my military drill dates, and then second, demanded a formal reason and explaniation why I needed to take the Friday off. After I finaly worked out all that mess, I was told that I was good to go and cleared to leave early and be off the next day. Come to find out that was not the case. ISS decided to penalize me by pointing me 1 and half points for missing work on a Saturday that I had more than a month ago givem them notice that I would need off due to military duty. There were orignally less than 300 full time jobs available that Amazone needed and yet ISS brought in over 600 and told no none that this was a seasonal job only. Now they are looking once again for people who are willing to work long hours for low pay and for a very short period of time.
