Pros
1) Will gain in terms of domain knowledge 2) Will learn to work under extreme pressure 3) Will learn how to survive in highly politicized culture
Cons
1) Things will turn upside down if you are not a good politician. You will be made a scapegoat even by your own bosses and team members. All your past contributions will go down in drain if anything goes wrong in the project even if you are not responsible for it. Most likely they will ask you to move out. 2) No systematic project planning. Stakeholder mgmt is extremely poor. 3) No processes are followed. No focus on documentation 4) As such its a product company but there is no focus in product up-gradation and enhancement as per current trends in the mkt. Focus gets lost once a deal is won as everyone gets pulled in the implementation work. Enrichment and clean up of the product happens only after the implementation and after client is royally screwed as no project gets delivered on time and without bugs. Showstoppers are resolved after client delivery. 5) Most of the projects gets screwed as no technically/functionally sound people join Intellect. Those who join leave it in a yr or two as they start searching for an opportunity immediately after a completion of a year or so. No good project managers either. 6) No carrier planning for associates. If somehow you become dependable/indispensable for a certain project/product, you will be doing the same thing year after year in the same role. 7) Keep it as your last option. You can join it if you do not have any other good option, It will be a nice platform to move to other companies after completion of a year or two.
