Pros

Salary + benefits + carrier (if you are a Colombian)

Cons

If you are not a Colombian you're in trouble. Management style is the political "either you are with me - or against", which limits innovation, creativity and initiative. The result is a development bank loosing market share to the CAF, the World Bank and CABEI. Unfortunately the IDB is no longer THE reference for Latin American issues.

Pros

The building is impressive (gym, daycare, health unit, cafeteria, auditorium, library, etc. ) Benefits and salaries are great (for employees).

Cons

Lots of bureaucracy and arrogant people. It takes like forever to get the simplest thing done. Good luck if you are able to secure a staff position, 99% of them are only for those who already have a friend or an acquaintance working there. Most of all operational processes are outdated and inefficient, but employees really don't care as long as they receive their juicy salaries.
