Pros

Good benefits. Good pay. Employees are supportive of each other.

Cons

Many middle-aged and up, tenured employees have been "let go" by International Paper in the past few years while a concentrated effort has been made to hire younger, recent college graduates. Good experience and opportunity for younger employment seekers. However, I would suggest to those considering working for IP to get in, get experience and move on within a few years. Longevity with IP doesn't seem to be valued any longer.

Pros

Very good benefits, decent pay and decent fellow employees. Decent learning programs and meetings with management. Good interaction with fellow employees

Cons

Not knowing work schedule until 2 or 3 days ahead of time. Supervisors not taking up for their crew to protect their job. Too many unnecessary petty rules and regulations (this is in other companies too)

Pros

The best thing I like about working at IP is enjoying the Benefits of salaried employees. Leadership is great and the company as a whole is one of most safety minded engaged facility that I have ever worked for. IP Sumter Sheeting that is! Not one complaint in the area of safety.

Cons

12 hr rotating shifts, while not all that bad tends effect your sleep habits. I think we could stand another dollar or two, I think we are the lowest paid IP facility that exist. That in-turn is good for company cost and expense's, but not for the employee or the moral withing a facility where everyone does they're best to see the company succeed.
