All the overtime you want, and some you don't
Pros
Some of the best pay in the area, all the overtime you want you basically can write your own paycheck, if you are a good worker your fellow co workers will look out for you. When everything is running smoothly can be the easiest job in the world. SOME of management will work with you as best they can.
Cons
Most of management has absolutely no clue what goes on inside the actual plant or don't care, and the few that do are hard pressed to help you because they have to kiss up to the higher ups to stay in good graces. 12 hour shifts can be long especially during upset conditions. Heavy industrial environment can be dangerous if you get careless. At my facility we are underpaid/compensated when compared to equivalent jobs at other mills. Insurance is meh. Can be called in if given enough prior notice. Shifts can change week to week ( especially for new employees) making it hard to make long term plans outside of work.
