Pros

good PTO and flexibility with taking time off; helping clients achieve their goals can be rewarding

Cons

toxic work environment - understaffed and unequipped teams who feel the pressure of managing large and complex caseloads combined with a lack of quality leadership is a recipe for burnout. many people at the Seattle office were guilt-tripped and gaslit by managers. caseworkers/hourly employees do not get paid for overtime, despite insane overtime hours, and you rarely ever see changes implemented based on feedback from the direct service staff, which is why they all leave within 1-2 years. IRC also does not do a good job of hiring from within for excellent internal candidates who are looking to change roles or move to roles at HQ. more entry-level staff or looking into unionizing, or quitting, because they feel completely disillusioned by the leadership there.

Pros

the team has a lot of enthusiastic and knowledge on the topic

Cons

- HR is not involve and it is part of the conflict between staff and supervisor - They create position even when they don´t have budget - Don´t gave the full conditions to the staff and force them to achieve the outcomes of the project - they have supervisors that doesn´t have the full background for the position - the office depends from El Salvador, and they provide opportunities to the El Salvador staff for grow up in the company

Pros

The teams doing programming (resettlement and humanitarian programs abroad) are very mission oriented.

Cons

Very low morale. Competitive/cut throat approach internally. Lack of management/leadership creates tensions and passive aggressive internal issues. High degree of turnover for years in External Relations department without any steps to address it. DEI issues have not been meaningfully addressed. Constantly changing goals every other year due to turnover.
