Pros

Working with a International Organization based in NY. Working structure is very stable so in this case you could work.

Cons

National staff's allowances are very limited, if you compare with manager level, same work load but less money to officer/assistant

Pros

Benefits (Health) are excellent; At this organization you will help refugees and learn quite a bit about cultures. You will feel you have helped others significantly in this position.

Cons

Teams are purposely overstaffed due to budget constraints. You will feel overwhelmed most of the time; ironically the more you perform, the more refugees are sent due to the fact the UN believes if you are placing them into employment, then there are jobs! It is an extremely overwhelming position with very little assistance from management.

Pros

Incredible mission, dynamic international environment

Cons

I had a manager with anger management issues and the organization was aware of the challenges but still allowed her to manage people. Bureaucratic environment.
