Pros

Good work-life balance. Within the Menlo Park office there exists a small family feeling.

Cons

Lack of investment back into the corporation. Lack of proper training. Lack of equipment. Lack of leadership. Management is lazy and complacent. Lack of accountability. Lack of competitive pay for the Bay Area. Pay structure is not 21st century like. Does not incentivize employees to stay, grow and work hard. Lack of transparency. Hypocritical pay structure & culture. Software from early 2000s and disjoint. This slows down the business a lot.

Ossified, rigid structure

Pros

Early on Intertek was dynamic and innovative.

Cons

Since Andre Lacroix took over as CEO all ability for managers to make decisions has been rescinded. Every dollar spent needs high level approval even for simple day-to-day OPEX. Middle managers are increasingly in the position of having to explain inexplicable corporate policy to their employees. The key set of rules is supposed to be the core management controls (CMCs) but they cannot be relied on because they are superseded by emails containing alternative rules that are only narrowly circulated among upper management. After filing all of the necessary paperwork and collecting all of the necessary approvals according to the CMCs, a proposal will be sent back on the basis that it doesn’t conform to revised instructions contained in an email that was never widely circulated. The structure is just broken.
