Pros

Good benefits package if you just need a full time job

Cons

Very old fashioned company. I felt like i was in the 90s working. Everyone was like a zombie. This was the driest corporate setting i have ever worked in. Also i was the youngest person there and i clearly knew more about technology. When asked to move up when positions were opened, i was constantly turned down even though i was qualified. I also discovered that i was being underpaid.

Pros

Exposure to different types of products. Travel opportunities. Chance to meet with industry specialists.

Cons

Incompetent management - from upper level managers all the way down to immediate supervisors. No basic decency when it comes to dealing with employees; complete lack of inter personal skills. Inhumane work hours and expectations. Narcissistic attitudes of senior level engineers. Frustrations with dealing with processes that are counter productive. Pressure on billing to produce substandard work. Yearly raises are pitiful for most. Extremely high turnover. No work life balance.

Pros

Great vacation Great health insurance Travel opportunities If you get in the right field, you can get a lot of experience in a short amount of time. Many employees left after 3 to 10 years and got highly paid and prestigious careers.

Cons

Management does not care about you Management forces you to work long hour Minimum raises If you are not part of the boys club you are treated poorly I was not on a Visa, but if you are they abuse you. I even had an employee ask me to hire someone in college as a technician and then once he graduates send him to one of the California labs so they could "abuse the hell out of him" as an engineer. Pressed to complete a lot of work in a short time with little emphasis on quality
