Pros

The only good thing about this place is the people.

Cons

Everything! Everything about this place is terrible and there are systemic issues with corporate culture that can been applied to every Intertek facility across the world. They treat every employee as if they were replaceable - even PIs/management. The pay is terrible and many people have left to find better pay else where. We all know CROs are fast pace and can be very stressful, but this place is on a whole new level. Each person is expected to do the work of 4 or 5 people and gets paid less than the average for their position. Given that we live in san diego and the cost of living is top 10 in the country the pay barely a living wage and many people have second jobs. The morale among the employees is low due to the low pay and continually increasing workload. There is no mentorship or knowledgeable staff on site since many of them have been laid off or left within the last month. Roughly 20 people of various skill levels and paygrades have been laid off within the last month - not a stable company. Advice to anyone wanting to work here: Don't! There are better places to get your foot in the door.

Pros

4 weeks PTO is granted to every new hire without negotiating. Work life balance if you have the right job and boss. New CEO is forcing senior management to change; most won't survive if the bar is raised because they lack the skills.

Cons

Executive team lacks basic strategy and business skills. Management has no idea what leadership in a global organization looks like because they 'grew up' in small mom and pop sized labs. Extremely poor communication and people management skills. At times, I wonder if I'm at work or in an episode of the Kardashians. High turnover in all job areas.
